Mar 02 2009

Leading aviation services provider, Servisair, is celebrating having beaten off strong competition to win two categories of the GoSkills Passenger Transport Awards 2008.

The national Awards, now in their 3rd year, were granted by GoSkills, a government licensed Sector Skills Council (SSC) for passenger transport, in recognition of the hard work and commitment shown by the sector in developing skills to the benefit of individuals and employers. The winners have both received congratulatory letters from the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.

Candidates were required to undergo a rigorous judging process in order to demonstrate their enthusiasm, personal development, team work and ability to go the extra mile in service delivery. Following the process, Servisair triumphed to become the proud winner of the ‘Aviation Apprentice of the Year 2008’ Award, secured by Nicholas James Lane, and the ‘NVQ Achiever of the Year 2008’, gained by Marimar Saenz.

Speaking of the Awards, Helen Whalley, Qualifications Manager for Servisair comments “This is a fantastic achievement, not only just for the employees concerned, but for the company as a whole. We place a strong emphasis and commitment on providing training and qualifications so that we can best serve our customers and the travelling public, whilst developing our staff’s confidence and experience. To gain national recognition for all our hard work is extremely satisfying and a great platform to further develop our skills and performance levels from.”

Servisair has been providing work-based learning qualifications for 10 years, with over 2,000 certificates awarded to staff members.
