Servisair Cargo Adds Iberia to Heathrow Portfolio

Jan 21 2009

Following their recent success of winning the Jet Airways business at their London Heathrow Building 521 facility, Servisair Cargo has beaten off strong competition again to secure the Iberia Cargo contract.

The contract, which commenced on 12th January 2009, includes full cargo handling in Heathrow, trucking throughout the UK / Ireland, and regional warehouse handling. The carrier currently has 12 daily flights from Heathrow – 8 to Madrid and 4 to Barcelona – and uses Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. In addition they can operate up to 3 weekly trucks into the Hub with out-of-gauge Import and Export freight.

Speaking of the new business, Mohammed Akhlaq, VP Business Development Servisair Cargo, comments “The award of the Iberia Cargo contract clearly demonstrates our ability to provide a high quality, cost effective handling solution in a competitive marketplace.”

Antonio Alles, Cargo Manager UK & Ireland for Iberia Cargo adds “We had operated from our previous Heathrow facility for over a decade, so moving our business was not a decision we took lightly. We were very impressed with the modern facility Servisair Cargo has to offer and their ability to provide one stop handling solution throughout the UK and Ireland. We look forward to working with their management and front line teams in the months and years to come.”
