Summary

Servisair has been appointed as service provider for Airport Customer Assistance Program (ACAP) by GTAA for operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport - YYZ

Excellent customer service skills are integral part of this job with constant interaction with passengers and airline representatives. The agent must be courteous, polite, when handling passengers traveling through the airport and provide information from available resources e.g. FIDS, computers etc.,
Proficiency in oral and written English language is an essential part of this job to communicate with passengers as well as other agencies at the airport to ensure an efficient operation for passengers requiring assistance.
 

Duties of Customer Care Agent is as follows

  • Provide clear, concise and courteous information for the traveling public
  • Must be capable of operating loading bridges and aircraft doors
  • Assist disembarking/embarking passengers and personal effects from aircraft through port facility to parking facility
  • Attend to wheelchair (carry on/carry off/Stretcher passengers and personal effects and any passenger requiring assistance
  • Assess passenger’s needs and abilities to make use of the correct mobility equipment
  • Carry and operate a radio/pager as required
  • Operate surreys through terminal and parking facilities including assisting passengers and personal effects on and off the surrey
  • Assist special needs passengers and personal effects to ensure a seamless/stress free airport experience using all facilities at the port
  • Monitor special needs passengers and personal effects in airport. Airline lounges. Customer care centers, shopping areas etc.
  • Must maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times
  • Operate paging and announcement systems at the gate as required
  • Cleaning and maintenance of wheelchairs

Requirements

The job specifications has the following requirements:

Physical Ability to handle wheelchair passengers including carry off and carry on passengers. The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an agent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the agent is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The agent is frequently required to climb stairs, bend at the waist, kneel, crouch or stoop. The agent on occasion may lift or move up to 200 pounds, and/or more frequently lift or move 100 to 150 pounds, and constantly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

Additional qualifications in the following field will be an asset

  • Previous health care experience an asset
  • Proficiency in French language an asset
  • Second Language an asset

Job Requirements
  • Shift Working - The job you are applying for requires shift working. We manage a twenty-four-hour operation including early mornings, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. You are willing to work a variable shift pattern.
  • Driving Licence - You must have a full / unrestricted vehicle driving licence.
  • Customer Services - You will have customer service experience.
  • Communication - You will possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Work Permit - You must have permission to work in the the country for which you have applied.
  • Age 18+ - You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Canadian citizen - Applicants must be Canadian citizens or Landed immigrants for the past five (5) continuous years, be fully bilingual and undergo a stringent security clearance process.
